Description
Quercus garryana is the iconic tree for not only Bush’s Pasture Park but also for the Willamette Valley. This long-lived species, which can grow to 100 feet, is well-adapted to our wet-winters and dry summers. It supports a wide range of birds and animals including Band-tailed pigeons, woodpeckers, jays, and our endangered Western Gray Squirrel. The City of Salem and MSPC are working together to plant the next generation of Oregon White oaks.
