The MSPC Art Fair Plant Sale, “Cool Plants in the Heat of Summer,” was once again held in the shade of the eastern white oaks south of Bush House Museum. Eleven local growers displayed their fabulous, unusual plants for the delight of would-be buyers for a net of $6,264.00. Sixty-five volunteers helped with everything from ‘pulling plants’ at Egan Gardens to pulling tags for the cashiers for a total of 455 volunteer hours. As Anita Engberg, our volunteer coordinator, stated, “The sale couldn’t happen without the efforts of so many wonderful volunteers, MSPC members as well as others from the community who offer their support.” The latter includes our sponsors; Elwood Tree Service, Egan Gardens, and Salem Printing and Blueprint, and all those growing ‘our’ new plants in their gardens.
