Late winter is the time when the bugle call goes out to our Tuesday Gardeners to trim away last year’s weathered foliage to make way for the slender young shoots that emerge from the base of the plant. If one waits too long, it’s a tricky and tedious process to avoid clipping off the new growth. Not a chore that anyone looks forward to because the weather is usually wet and cold, and the ground is mucky. But our Mary persevered. Thank you, Mary!
